Great Expectations

140 maanden geleden

Wedding. Party. Dinner. Only one question springs to mind whenever a special occasion is coming up - what shall I wear???

This has been a dilemma for centuries, and I hate to say this but, will continue to be a dilemma in the future - What shall I wear?

Well, maybe stick to the safe side and go for the classic Little Black Dress. Or experiment with something completely different (Lady Gaga, anyone?)

Or you could take inspiration from Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai! Really??

That's right dolls - exceed expectations, enchant and captivate with an eastern-influenced outfit!

The Sari - Revisited
This is the traditional sari that most of you know, consisting of an underskirt, blouse and long strip of fabric. There is more than one way of draping a sari, to acheive different effects. The quality and finish of the fabric can make or break an outfit, so always ensure you select a sari that is made from good quality materials. Don't forget to add a touch of class with jewellery to match your sari.

The Lehenga Choli
This style is a combination of as cropped top, long skirt, and dupatta. There are many interesting designs and patterns for this type of garment, and is equally flattering.

The Salwar Kameez
Salwar Kameez features trousers wide at the top and narrow at the ankle, a long shirt/tunic, and scarf. Also known as the national dress of Pakistan. This style comes in many assorted colours, fabrics and textures. Accessorising can really make this stand out -think Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om.

Designers to look out for:
