First, the internet was abuzz with a trend called “planking,” where individuals lay face down on your stomach (like a plank) with your hands your sides in random locations. Celebrities like Katy Perry took to their Twitter page to show their version of the new phenomenon (see above). She also tweeted another picture of herself planking on the fourth.

Rosario Dawson apparently loves the latest craze, since she’s a triple-offender planker: doing it once on Jimmy Kimmel Live, once on Chelsey Lately, and again on her Twitter page. And it wouldn’t be an internet sensation if the Biebs didn’t get in on the action too. Check out his worthy-plank on his Twitter page.

Chris Brown seems to have also fallen victim to the planking phenomenon, taking to his Twitter page to show his fans his special “skills.”

But forget planking—it’s so two months ago anyways. The new big thing? Well, many speculate that planking has evolved into a new trend called “owling,” which has recently hit the internet. Owling is where an individual simply perches, crouched like an owl. It sounds ridiculous, but this new sensation is taking over Twitter and Facebook feeds all over the world. Hilary Duff took to her Twitter to show us her “owling” abilities, with the caption “Didn’t wanna hit carmageddon so I’m just owling all weekend!”

The final internet sensation sweeping the world wide web: “coning.” This is where a person picks up an ice cream cone from a drive-thru and grabbing it by the ice cream itself  instead of by the cone. Seems like a waste of perfectly good ice cream to us but oh well! Check out this video of “coning” to get the gist of it.
