StarPlaza Levels: BASICS (1st Edition)

64 maanden geleden

How do you do, my bipedal friends? Or if your eight-legged tarantula is reading this, I'm not judging, not judging.

Now, your favorite scribe of Stardoll here decided to kick off this new series with the first edition of BASICS, one of my favorite stores. Because: tons of colors. And because I don't want to write a 15-page-long essay, I will just cover the first release ever... for now. You ain't getting rid of me so soon.

The first collection of BASICS graced our screens sometime in June 2009. Maybe on 26 or 27...I don't know. I was 8 years old, so yeah, I haven't caught this collection.

This store was made under the whole 'Play & Earn' label, meaning that every single item was 5 SD and under. Yes, SD, because SC had yet to be introduced. The store was meant to be basic and affordable. When SC were introduced, Stardoll changed their currency. Sounds fair, to me.

What was different about BASICS was that every single item had different color choices. In the pic above, I have arranged all the existing Denim Shorts in each color, and bellow, you can find each existing item in different colors. I don't own quite ALL of them...yet. The picture should help you...picture...everything better.

The store had a total of 15 types of simple, versatile articles for you to choose from:

❥ Belted Dress
❥ Tube Dress
❥ Body Suit
❥ Tube Top
❥ Boatneck Top
❥ Shirt
❥ Harem Pants
❥ Capri Pants
❥ Denim Shorts
❥ Biker Shorts
❥ Hot Pants
❥ Mini Skirt
❥ Ballet Flats
❥ Flip Flops
❥ Canvas Bag

Now, think about it; each single item comes in 12 different colors! Follow the denim shorts line for the colors: BABY BLUE, WHITE, LIME, LIGHT PINK, BEIGE, PINK, CORAL, LEMON, APRICOT, LAVENDER, TURQUOISE and RED.

That's a total of 180 items for you to hunt for since they have all been released in the Bazaar.

The most common BASICS are: Coral Canvas Bag, Tube Top and Flats; Red and Turquoise Capri Pants; White Biker Shorts; Pink Mini Skirt for some reason. They're easier to find so you can go for those if you need a starter. The Pink Mini Skirt is also often won as a The Vote box prize.

As a fun fact, a total of 6 starter dolls which were available up to 2015 contained at least a rare BASICS. I'm not entirely sure about the other starters since I managed to save a few pictures, but they are incomplete. From what I've gathered, there's an additional old starter who owns the Lavender Mini Skirt, but that's all.

So...the recap questions! (Cheap but fun - I say - attempt to strike up a conversation in the comments section.):

What's your favorite BASICS color?

What's your favorite BASICS article?

How many of them you own?

Are you a collector or not?

Alpacas or llamas?
