Hey Dolls! June 30 is Social Media Day.

In the spirit of this strange holiday, I thought it'd be fun to share some stats and fun facts! Here are 5 random facts about Social Media in 2019 that will probably surprise you.

1. According to Promo Republic statistics, people send over 500 million tweets a day! (I bet Marty McFly never would have imagined people spend so much time chirping in 140 characters.) 🐦

2. Three of the top social networks have over a billion unique active monthly users each. Compare it to Germany's population of 80 million people and the USA's population at 327 million respectively, that's a lot of people indeed. 😬

3. As of June 2019, the most followed person on Insta is Cristiano Ronaldo with over 170 million followers. #Goals! ⚽️🥅Move over Selena.

4. Mediakix recently reported over 3.1 billion people use social media on Earth, and that young single females are addicted to social media more than any other group. Some mental health experts recommend limiting social media use to 30 minutes a day to reduce other kinds physiological risks.

5. Influencers! If you ask the average 6 to 17 year old what they want to do when they come of age, the answer most likely won't be "astronaut", or "actor" anymore. According to Mediatkix's recent ranks, every "1 in 3" (or 75%) of kids surveyed want to be online content creators, and vlog on their channel when they grow up. It seems like most kids are more creatively inclined these days.

Did you know? Stardoll now allows users to share their usernames to other popular social media sites (such as Instagra and Youtube), BUT sharing direct links is still prohibited.
