Change

'Change is the only constant in life...'

Life is a cycle of ups and downs, highs and lows. Your energy is never the same, and your surroundings are constantly changing, whether that's for the worse or better. It's never easy trying to adapt to a situation when it constantly is changing. When you're constantly changing.

Every situation that we go through daily is meant to teach us, mature us. Every hard decision we come across is meant to shape us to our highest self. The best version of us.

A few years back, I used to hate changing. I've lived in many cities, changed a ton of schools, friends. I was constantly moving and I hated that. I wanted the normal life all my mates were having. Going to the same school my entire life, knowing everyone on my neighborhood. I wanted so badly to finally be stable. And then one day, I was crying and my mother saw me. After a while of her trying to understand what was wrong, I told her that I was sick of that life.

I didn't want to live like that anymore. My mother smiled and she told me: "You will never be used to changes, unless you stop trying to adapt. Nothing is meant to be the same forever, not you, not me, and definitely not our circumstances. You have to stop worrying and start enjoying the fact that you get to experience so many things and meet so many people. It's rare and you should cherish that."

In that exact moment, I didn't understand any of the words she said to me. But through the years, I learned how to accept and love diversity. How to be thrilled for change. And I have realized that what I hated wasn't change itself. I hated the concept of it that society had forced on me. Everyone saw it as a bad thing, so I felt like it was a bad thing. But once I realized (the hard way) it was not, I started enjoying it.

Once more people start understanding that change isn't as bad, it'll start feeling more enjoyable.
