Summer Recipes
Hello!
In the summer, it is usually very sunny. I get really hot in the summer and usually need something cold to cool me down. Today I'll be giving you two recipes to make with friends, siblings, or for yourself on a hot summer day.
Popsicles - I love popsicles, but sometimes I want one that has a more natural flavor than the ones I can buy from a store. Here is one of my recipes for easy to make popsicles. You'll need popsicle molds, fruit, and juice. Pour some of your favorite juice in a blender, and chop up a few fruits to add. If you want a little more sweetener, pour in some honey. Blend all of this up until it is liquid, and don't worry if there are a few fruit chunks. You can use this as a smoothie, but if you want popsicles, read on. Pour the smoothie into your popsicle molds and freeze them for 2-3 hours. If you are unsure of juice and fruit combinations, look a few up on the internet. I recommend pineapple juice and blueberries.
Ice Cream - Let's be real- sometimes, I am just too lazy to go to the store and pick up some ice cream. Why not just make some instead? In a small bag, mix a cup of half-and-half (a mixture of milk and cream), 1 ½ to 2 tablespoons of sugar, and ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Seal the bag. Put this small bag into a larger Ziploc bag, and fill the larger bag with ice and ice cream salt. If you don't have ice cream salt, you can use regular table salt, too. Make sure that the smaller bag is still sealed so nothing leaks into the ice. Shake the large bag for a few minutes until you reach your desired texture.
