Spend or Save?

75 maanden geleden

Hello, dolls!

Dupes - for what products should you be spending and saving on?

Face:
When it comes to 'face products' (e.g. powder, concealer, foundation especially) you should generally spend your money. You are placing these products right onto your skin and pores - hence, it's very important you are ensuring that the quality is there. Those with sensitive skin or skin prone to breakouts should follow the spending rule especially here to ensure that there are no flare-ups of acne or irritation.

Eyes:
Eyes are tricky. For eyeshadow, do your research. There are a ton of low-cost dupes out there for popular high-end palettes, but you are also running the risk of a lower quality pigment, chalkiness and more - so read up before you buy. For mascara, you can 100% save money. Unless you are buying waterproof or different coloured mascaras, generally you can find similar high-end brushes in the chemist. For eyeliner, I suggest going middle of the range. Because eyeliner goes very close to your eyes, stay away from uber-cheap options you aren't 100% sure of. However, you can generally find similar products that save you a little bit of money. Again, do your research!

Lips:
For most lip products, you can generally save money. A simple bit of research before you spend $30 on a new liquid lipstick can find many dupes of colours and similar finishes. Lip products are so varied, so unless you know your lips are irritated by certain ingredients, you can really shop around and save with lip products. I suggest investing in a gloss to matte product so you can transform your products further.

Remember: if you have sensitive skin or allergies, always check ingredients before buying something new. Do your research online, read reviews, and have fun!
