Crafting The Perfect Smoothie!

I'm just loving smoothies at the moment! I love filling them with delicious and healthy fruit and having one as part of a nice big lunch or as a snack or light meal. Here are the best tips I've learned!



Choosing your fruits!
A delicious and healthy smoothie will usually have a fruit base! I find bananas provide a really creamy taste as a smoothie base, but you don't have to use them. You could try using mango, peaches, or even avocado! Frozen fruits are really good for adding flavour - check out the freezer section at your local supermarket. My faves are frozen blueberries and cranberries!


What about vegetables?
If you're not a huge salad fan, smoothies are the perfect way to get in some veggies! Try popping in some greens like spinach or kale - you usually can't taste them once everything is blended up. You could also try carrot or ginger if you want something more flavourful!


The liquid part!
All smoothies need some type of liquid to allow them to blend properly and be drinkable. Many people use normal dairy milk, but I use plant milks like almond or coconut milk, as their flavour mixes a lot better with the fruit. Coconut water is my ultimate favourite liquid to use in smoothies though, as it is so sweet and refreshing!

 

Don't forget to always ask an adult for help with any kitchen appliances you may need to use.
