It is an ongoing debate as to which Disney Channel era is better. These arguments are based on the lessons being taught in the shows, the acting, what the show is about, and the stars produced. 

I think it's safe to say that the biggest stars to ever come from Disney Channel were mainly from the later 2000s. Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and the Jonas Brothers are some of the most popular names in the channel's spectrum. In the '90s it was creating stars such as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. They were unstoppable.

It's drastically different now. The last set of shows that I saw began in the 2010/2011 years, so I was very familiar with those "stars." Although very popular people have emerged from the 2010 era, it's not the 2000s. The only person who is in that tier is Zendaya, and that's only because she built her image to get to her current status. 

Disney Channel just isn't producing the stars that they used to, and we're going to try to find out why.
