My Perspective Readdressed

70 ay önce

This post addresses the events of the past weeks. I hope this provides closure to the majority of my readers. Firstly, I apologize to those who were hurt by my original post; it was ill-timed and probably shallow due to my lack of reasoning. I was also informed this lack of evidence made my post appear like attack against the LGBTQIA+ community, so I apologize for that too, as it was never my intention.

Since that post, it’s been sad to see some hate, but I’ve been able to talk to a few people and conduct civil conversations where we shared our thoughts in a respectful way. This has been so wonderful, as we’ve been able to pull the conversation forward, growing in individual ways.

I’ve still decided not to post my reasons publicly for two reasons.
1.I know not everyone would want to see them. I have no intention of changing other minds.
2.They can easily appear offensive, especially without further explanation. (If you want to know my thoughts, my messages are open.)

Our world is changing; we’re so much more connected, constantly bombarded by a storm of media influencing our ideas. No, society will never be able to agree on anything, even on things that appear absolute to many of us. But our media can also serve as a pathway to access a broader perspective of these opinions around us.

With this in mind, we can use our understanding of the world, our wonderful capability to empathize, and learn from the mistakes our past to respect our differences. It’s fine to disagree, feel sad, even angry.

But, we remain accountable to our choices, which means using our self-control to make sure the only words which come out of us are positive and respectful. If it’s that bad, just ignore it.

Let’s be the generation that respects everyone’s differences and shares love instead of hate.

Take care ♡
