Bazaars and Etiquette
I am surprised at how many dolls forget good manners at Stardoll, especially when asking for what amounts to a favor. Here are some of my observations about how members should treat each other with more consideration.
No one should be a pest begging other members to sell items for Starcoins.
Everyone who is Superstar or Royalty paid for membership with real money. Just because someone has a paid membership does not mean that they are rich. And unless they are a friend IRL, they do not have any obligation to be nice. That being said, treating others with respect may make them more willing to be helpful.
Each doll only has 20 slots for selling items. I have been burned by dolls who ask me to reserve something and don't come back to buy. This is another reason why many dolls no longer take requests to reserve something. I don't like to haggle. Anyone who does not want to pay my asking price is free to shop elsewhere.
It is part of the game to chose the right price when placing an item for sale. If it is priced too high, it will not sell.
Designers must buy their designs from Stardoll. They also spend a lot of time learning how to use the tools. If you've tried to use the design modules yourself, you may have an appreciation for how much effort and time it takes to create something worthwhile. Designers have very little mark-up and they take a risk by stocking inventory. Unless you have tried it, you may not understand how much work it takes to make a profit.
Begging for gifts is not good manners, and it deprives others of the joy of giving freely.
Behave as if someone you respect were watching. Be aware of how your actions affect others. Play safe and have fun.
