Being a Teenage Girl
Being a teenage girl is a confusing time for most of us. We're expected to act like adults- be polite, respect authority, remain quiet, and uphold a feminie image. At the same time we are expected to dress a particular way, to fit our figure and stay with the fashions whilst never wearing anything that 'shows too much'. We are expected to achieve top marks in schools and go on to be successful.
At this time we are all devealoping physically, emotionally and any other way possible. It really is a mindfeild and it can be so easy to be 'wrong' or 'right'
Is it right? Is any of this really acceptable? Sometimes as a teenage girl you really have to question what 'acceptable' is.
It is ridiculous, I know for certain that most boys don't feel the preassure to uphold an 'acceptable' image. I strongly doubt men conscoiosly check for 'muffin tops' and 'flabby wrinkles' when buying a pair of jeans, so why do we?
When someone tells you what you are doing is 'unacceptable' question it. Is it really you that is unacceptable, or is it them?
