For those of you who can’t wait for the Hunger Games, hitting theaters on March 23rd of next year, Lionsgate films is bringing you one more way to show your District 12 spirit—with nail polish! The collection is called “Colours of the Capitol” and launches on March 1, giving you a month’s worth of Katniss, Cinna, and Gale-inspired colors to flaunt on your fingertips before the movie is released. The Hunger Games-inspired collection first appeared in a leaked photo on the web last month, causing a serious stir. After all three companies involved (Lionsgate, All, and China Glaze) threatened to sue each other for the rights to the collection, the line was declared dead. Now the polish is back, with changes to some names—“Catnip” became “Fast Track,” and “Primrose” is now “Dress Me Up”—but in all the same colors. With natural mattes, subtle metallics, and eye-grabbing, glittering brights, the wide range of colors is sure to please loyal fans of the trilogy and die-hard fans of great nail color.

We all know that winter weather takes a severe toll on our lips. At this time of year, no matter how much gloss or Chapstick you wear, or how often you reapply, you can wind up with dry, flakey lips that lower the wattage on even the brightest smile. What’s a girl to do when lip balm just isn’t cutting it? Exfoliate! Give these great products a try or check out our tips for a DIY version.

Last weekend in Hollywood, The Trevor Project honored Lady Gaga with the Trevor Hero Award for increasing the visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community and being an inspiration to today’s teens. Celebrities—including Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, LeAnn Rimes, Amber Heard, and the cast of Glee—turned out to support and celebrate the Project, a free and confidential 24-hour lifeline to LGBTQ teens.

The only Whitney to cross our TV screens these days is comedian Whitney Cummings, star of the not-so-funny sitcom, Whitney. But just over a year ago, we could catch another Whitney—Whitney Port—in The City. The last time we saw her, the affable reality-TV veteran was launching her fashion line, Whitney Eve—and facing criticism and tough love from ELLE editors and PR maven Kelly Cutrone. The question is how are Port and Whitney Eve doing these days? We caught up with the designer—and new Crest Whitestrips spokesperson—at a NYC Crest event last night to find out.

Making her way from the small screen—with roles on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Pushing Daisies—to the big screen in The Greening of Whitey Brown, Sammi Hanratty stars along side one of America’s most beloved models-turned-actresses, Brooke Shields. In the film, Hanratty plays a popular teen who loses her high school crown when her family faces financial hardship, forcing them to leave the city. ELLEgirl caught up with the ascending actress to talk about her love for horses, how she avoids cliques, and why she stands tall against bullying.

In the week leading up to the premiere of Twilight‘s Breaking Dawn, fan-pires and twi-hards took over downtown L.A. The surprisingly international bunch (hailing from New York, London, Australia) overshadowed the city’s Occupy movement and paid homage to the movie’s stars with sparkling signs reading, “Rob, you robbed my heart!” or, “Taylor, you’ve taken my heart!” Last night, the two teen idols finally landed on the red carpet in honor of the second to last installment of the vampire saga. Both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner said they’d love to play Bella Swan, if forced to play a character other than their own. Pattinson, a bit confused by the question, said, “Probably Jacob…I mean, unless I could play Bella?” Lautner followed suit, “It would be interesting to see things from Edward’s point of view, since I’ve been looking at things from Jacob’s the whole time. But, and this may sound weird, I think Bella. That would be the most interesting.” It’s not that they’re anxious oust Kristen Stewart—or even try on Bella’s wardrobe. Pattinson mentioned that he “definitely” wants to work with his girlfriend post-Twilight and Lautner added, “Kristen does the best job anyone could possibly do at that role, but it would be very interesting [to play].” As for Stewart, she hit the red carpet in a near perfect black and navy sequined floor length gown by J.Mendel. And those Jimmy Choos? She swapped them out for a pair of navy Nikes half way down the carpet. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 opens in theaters this Friday, November 18th.

If you have an older sister, or if your boy-band obsession had a late onset, then Howie D should be no stranger to you, and if he is, he won’t be for long. The Backstreet Boy is releasing his first-ever solo record Back To Me on November 15 and opens for Britney Spears in South America this month (not bad!). Fans have been waiting for this moment for the past five years, and we can’t wait to see where this hotly-anticipated album takes him. The charming singer-songwriter lets us in on the process of stepping out on his own two feet and explains why people say he’s the “romantic guy you want to take home to meet your mother.” Check it out!
