Finals Week
Time to set up camp in the library & stock your fridge with coffee & energy drinks. Sleep is a thing of the past. Guys, do not even attempt to study the night before because you will not do well...

Clothes/Wardrobe
I was never one to wear extremely fancy clothes, but I do have a certain style that I like. By the middle of the semester, I was wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts almost every day! And it's not just me...everyone does! There's so much going on that many times you find yourself not worrying about your appearance at all.

Food
I'm from a South American/Caribbean country, and I'm very used to eating a lot of cultural food (rice, peas, stewed meat, broths, teas, etc.), so it was very difficult trying to adapt to American foods every single day. It's still a bit of a struggle. If you're used to your mom or dad's homecooked food, you might feel a bit homesick.

Overall Experience
In the end, I LOVE COLLEGE. It's only been my first year and I've already learned so much. I've met people whom I consider family, and professors who have worked so hard to make my time there better. Of course there are days when I miss my home and family, but it doesn't take away from the feeling of being independent and becoming an adult.
