Heya everyone,

If you are Australian, you would know that Australia Day is quickly approaching us. For those of you who don't know, Australia day comes around every year on the 26th of January. The 26th marks the anniversary of the arrival of the first fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain in Australia.


Even though the date marks a significant time in History, and the history of the beginning of our country, Australians use the day to reflect contemporary Australia. We look at out diverse landscapes and society, and celebrate our achievements and what we have planned for the future.


The event is very widely celebrated, with around half of our nation's population of 21 million people attending an organised event, or gathering with family and friends to celebrate the national day! Fireworks and barbeques are a must of this event.






There is a bit of a lesson for you. Hopefully you enjoyed this post, and maybe even learnt something new about this National day for my Country.
