All About... Punk! Part 2

148 hónappal ezelőtt

Now to punk 'beliefs'. I put this word in quotation marks as not all people who call or called themselves punks actually believe these views and many punks had other beliefs but they are widely associated with the punk subculture none the less and are one of the reasons punk turned into a subculture, not just a genre of music & fashion. One of the biggest ideologies associated with punk is the idea of nonconformity and rebellion; basically anarchy. Many punks didn't like the way they felt the media and government were trying to control them so rebelled by dressing outrageously, creating punk rock music and often spray painting. Some punk rock lyrics mention anarchy and punk ideologies, one of the most well known being from the song Anarchy in The UK, these lyrics are things such as "I am an anarchist" and "I wanna be anarchy" showing the views some punks held. Although some punk bands and their followers sang about these ideologies only a few people actually went wild and caused havoc and the majority of punks just had 'normal' views and simply liked the fashion and music, not the ideologies so please don't get the impression that every punk believed these views, because quite a lot didn't and quite a lot of punk rockers and punk rock bands are so against these views that they refuse to class them as punk, but never the less, they are still related to punk so are still going to be mentioned in this blog post.

Here is a photo of my doll wearing a punk style outfit to give you a better idea of what punk fashions looked like :)
