Tried and Tested: At Home Light Therapy

80 hónappal ezelőtt

Hello, dolls!

Today I've decided to create a new series, called Tried and Tested, where I try out, review and give you guys an honest opinion on weird, wacky, new or interesting makeup, skincare or beauty items!

Today's product: At-home light therapy mask. Recently Neutrogena has come out with a light therapy acne mask, which brings dermatologist-approved light therapy technology to a home-user. As someone with mild acne, I'm always open to trying something that might clear up my skin!

So the actual product says it works for mild to moderate acne and says NOT to use it for non-existent or particularly bad acne. The light therapy itself is UV and chemical free, which is a plus. Basically, you put on the mask like sunglasses, and it covers the whole face except the eyes. You plug the mask into the 'activator' which counts down the number of uses you have left (each activator gives you 30). Then, you sit in intense pink light for 10 minutes, with the mask turning off automatically.

First, the pros. I really have seen a difference in my skin! It could be wishful thinking, but the morning after my first use my skin did look a little clearer and my acne less severe. However, on the con side, this mask is an expensive treatment, retailing for around $60AU. Plus, you only get 30 uses per activator - meaning you have to spend $30AU to buy a new one. So that's $30AU for the mask and roughly $1AU per treatment, which is a little steep.

However, if you have mild to moderate acne and are happy to pay, I think it's overall a good long-term investment. What do you think?

Comment any makeup, beauty or skincare products you want to be tried and tested!
