Calming Down
Sometimes I overthink or worry too much about a situation, and I end up needing to calm down majorly. Calming down helps me out a lot and it makes me feel much better. Here are some great ways I use when I need to calm down:
Thinking about something else - generic-sounding, but works. Thinking about something I like to think about can help you drift away from the topic, and it helps! I did this last night when I was almost panicking with worry.
Distracting yourself - reading a book, doing your homework or basically anything that isn't worrying can distract you from the situation, hence calming you down.
Deep breathing - deep breaths will slow your brain down (not in a bad way though!), leading you to overthink less and just calm down in general. This works so well in almost any situation where you need to calm down! It also relaxes you.
Relax - tensing up your muscles and then untensing is a great way to help relax. Another great way is to have a nice hot bath, the hot steam will help. Take it easy, if you can.
