Lessons Learned

Hi dolls.

Since working in retail for the past couple of months I have really learned a lot about myself and others around me.

I'm going to share with you some of the lessons I have learned so far. For any other dolls working in retail I'm sure you can relate and for anyone applying to work in retail, well this is for you.

Patience. I used to have a really short fuse. If something was annoying me, I'd be quick to jump in and say something without speaking. However, working in retail has given me so much patience as you end up dealing with such a variety of customer's in your shift. Also you're working in front of the general public, so you learn to remain calm in all situations.

Intuition. As you're dealing with so many different customer's you start to learn body language rather quick. For example, you can tell what a customer is thinking when they hold the clothes against themselves in front of the mirrors on the shop floor. Or you can tell when a customer is usually confused/lost and it gives you the ability to help them instantly.

Time Management. Depending on what part of the store I'm in that day I will have different tasks that I'll need to accomplish. We're all given a set amount of time; whether it's getting the store ready in the morning or completing stock control in the back. I used to be quite bad at keeping track of time, now however working in retail has helped me overcome this.

Well dolls, these are the main things I've learned so far and it's helped me to use them outside of work also. If you're thinking of working in retail, don't be afraid to write in my GB for any more info.

Hope this post helps you.
