If there is one thing that men and women can agree upon, it is a newfound shared love for Derby and Oxford shoes. We’ve seen our favorite female celebs taking a leaf out of the boys’ book and trading blister-inducing heels for a pair of these comfy and stylish shoes. This style of gender blender footwear can be worn with pants, shorts, dresses, or skirts and can be easily dressed up with a dainty pair of lacy socks.

For her fall 2011 RTW collection, entitled American Legends, Diane non Furstenberg has lassoed the style and power of three unquestionable female  icons of power and style: Millicent Rodgers, Diane Vreeland, and Gloria Vanderbilt. Mrs. Furstenberg and her right hand man Yvan Mispelaear may have arrived to the States from foreign shores, but this show displays a clear enthusiasm for their adopted turf, channeling a general American pioneering spirit. Complete with wide-brimmed hats, fringy suede, gaucho jumpsuits, a horse-shoe shaped runway, and the usual vivid DVF color palette, New York Fashion Week took a turn towards the Wild West.

In her latest flick Easy A, Emma Stone rocks a red “A” on her chest to proudly portray a modern Hester Prynne from The Scarlett Letter. Though it didn’t fare favorably for her in the film, the rosy color is working wonders for the 22-year old on the red carpet. Stone wore a two-toned Lanvin spring 2011 dress ( see it on the runway) with a one-shouldered coral bodice and a cranberry floor-length skirt to last night’s BAFTA Awards. A leather belt lends structure to the flowy dress, while touches of gold from her accessories and jewelry pull the look together beautifully. Stone was up for the Orange Rising Star Award against Gemma Arterton, Andrew Garfield, Aaron Johnson, and Tom Hardy, who took home the award. Catch her in the latest Spider-Man installment and Friends With Benefits co-starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis

It comes as no surprise that Michelle Trachtenberg made an appearance at New York Fashion Week: she is on the fabulously fashionable show Gossip Girl after all. What is interesting is that we caught Michelle front row at the Rebecca Taylor show, who is  a good friend of Michelle’s, and received a tip-off about a possible future collaboration between the two. “She and I are actually going to be doing a collaboration in the future. Probably a capsule collection. Not the near future because these things take time, but that’s really exciting. I mean, she’s the epitome of girly glam; she’s sophisticated and romantic. It’s pretty much the only thing you want to wear on a date,” said Michelle Trachtenberg. A capsule collection that’s a mix between Rebecca Taylor’s girly glam and Michelle’s rock chic style? Count us in. What do you think of this celebrity/designer collaboration? To read the rest of the interview click here!
