Ever wonder what a designer does all day? We asked Wes Gordon to keep a diary, but first, he wants you to know what he’s wearing: Lightweight washed navy zip-up Dior Homme windbreaker, coral pink Prada shirt, and old, heavily-worn in YSL jeans with black high-tops.

8:30AM Head to the Metropolitan Museum for a pre-opening tour of the Alexander McQueen exhibition with the Whitney American Fellows. Absolutely stunning.  Walking through the museum’s completely empty, enormous rooms is an amazing experience.

9:30AM Had a light breakfast in the back garden of The Mark Hotel with Paul Arnhold.  Egg white omelette, grapefruit with honey. Trying to get in shape for summer (….and it’s already almost July). Beautiful outside.

10:45AM Sketch, drape, and play with ideas for spring 2012. We’re using some really special, lux fabrics—all of which are special developments that require constant dialogue with the mills. Also, we’re incorporating some really special embroideries and surface treatments.  The first test pieces just arrived.

1:30PM Lunch with the beautiful Lily Berg at the Mercer Kitchen in Soho. She’s moving this weekend back to LA. Huge  loss for NY!

2:30PM Drop by BPCM’s very cool new office to say “Hi” and beat Julie and Emily at ping-pong.

4:00PM Fall production fitting with our house model, Carolina. Before our factories can make the entire order, I insist on seeing and approving one piece first. That way, we can correct any slight imperfection that may have been overlooked in a previous fitting.

5:30PM Meet with the very stylish Katie Heppert from Manolo Blahnik to discuss our upcoming spring collaboration. This is the first time I’m working with them and I couldn’t be more excited. Together, we’ll create 30 pairs of shoes for our upcoming September presentation.

8:00PM Have drinks in Tribeca with a friend from high school in Atlanta that I haven’t seen since graduation.

9:30PM Join a couple people for dinner at my favorite place, Il Buco.

12AM After watching The Glee Project on Demand, fall asleep. Great show.
