Vibrant lipstick shades and lacquers are totally in this season, but Racked came across a mini trend that looks pretty wicked. When the neon lipstick isn’t cutting it, you can now wear Violent Lips‘ temporary lip tattoos. These wet-and-apply tats for your lips come in funky patterns like polka dots, animal print, glitter, and rainbow and last anywhere from four to eight hours. They go for $15 and come in a pack of three. Would you style your kissers in these crazy patterns? Check out some of Violent Lips’ lip tattoos after the jump:

- This spring Aztec prints are popping up all over the streets and shops of Oxford Circus. The clash of bold and neutral colors in distinct urban patterns caught our eyes, so check out some pieces we’ve found for a bohemian-slash-tribal spin on maxi dresses, skirts, and gold studded accessories.

- Spring’s black-tie season kicked off with last night’s Met Gala honoring the late, absurdly talented Alexander McQueen. While none too many a fashion risk was taken, the event was still a sartorial feast for the eyes with winning couture choices, strong silhouettes, and stunning vintage pieces worn by the fashion set and Hollywood’s red carpet regulars. Check out our favorite looks after the jump!

Last night, Hailee Steinfeld stepped out at the Met Gala making as much a beauty statement as a sartorial one. The actress nailed the middle part, one of the upcoming fall season’s biggest beauty trends, loosely pulling back the sides for an elegant, head-turning hair ‘do. It’s easy to achieve the look: All you needs is to know exactly what kind of center part your head craves and the right tool to get you there. Check out some runway looks (plus top products!) from the fall 2011 shows after the jump:

- While orange and other citrus hues may have been spring and summer’s It colors, for fall and winter things are taking a much more somber note. A deep cobalt blue is going to be the shade for fall ’11, reminiscent of Yves Klein blue and post-World War II art. A close cousin to neutral navy, this is one of the most forgiving It colors we’ve seen in a while. We’re imagining pairing Yves Klein blue with other shades of blue for a beautiful monochrome look, or with black and cream for a classic taste, or as a backdrop to pops of red or neon. So wear a little or wear a lot—you’re sure to look fabulous.

I went on a date two weeks ago and recently have been hanging out with the guy in groups. First it was me inviting him out with my friends, then he invites me out with his friends and so forth—thing is, on both nights where a group of us were leaving the venue near my house, he didn’t bother to offer walking me home. He gave me a hug and that was it.
That got me thinking…almost everything went well on our date. We had good conversation, great eye contact, and even a few good laughs, but at the end of the night we split the bill. He didn’t walk me home. He hasn’t asked me out again, and I’m pretty sure he’s still interested. Now I may be old fashioned when it comes to dating but what happened to chivalry? I understand that women have developed hard-earned equality and independence, anywhere from relationships to the workplace, in addition to paying for themselves, opening their own doors, etc. We are definitely stronger, more passionate, and more independent these days, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t like being spoiled. Does it?

Listen up girls, we have a song that’s sure to become an instant favorite: it’s called “Good Girls,” the reggae ode to good girls everywhere by Cris Cab. His blues and reggae sound is a breath of fresh air in the music industry, and while you’ve probably heard his covers, his own music is even better. We had a chance to chat with the sweet and charming artist about where he got that addictive sound, first instruments, and why an artist has to produce a few covers to get a career off the ground.

Never one to shy away from a fashion risk, Sarah Jessica Parker showed how to make cocktail attire modern Williamsburg-style at the Brooklyn Artists Ball last night. Wearing a Lanvin sleeveless army green ruched dress under an embellished Chanel tweed coat, the Sex and the City star channeled Carrie’s carefree aesthetic (not to mention her serious shoe fetish). Jeweled pumps and a studded bucket bag topped off the unexpectedly edgy look, and brought uptown and downtown together seamlessly. Check out how to get her look below:

Sharpay had the right idea when she fell for the guy behind the camera lens. Nineteen-year-old Austin Butler co-stars with Ashley Tisdale in HSM’s spin-off as student filmmaker Peyton Leverette, but in real life, the star of Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure (now out on DVD!) is just as crush-worthy. We caught up with the cutie who dished on Ashley’s diva tendencies, why Ryan Gosling deserves an Academy Award, and what he’s doing on his next first date. Check it out!

The trend comes and goes, but the question remains: would you go to prom sporting neon-painted lips? The look isn’t for the faint of heart, and once you commit, there’s no going back (technically, a quick duck into the ladies room and a wad of toilet paper will do the trick, but who wants to show up wearing hot purple lipstick one minute and a nude lip the next?). For those of you who are up for a beauty risk on the big night, here are some tips to master the look:
