Originally from London, Sarah Rutson holds the post of fashion director at Lane Crawford, Hong Kong’s preeminent luxury store—what some would call Asia’s answer to Bergdorf Goodman. She’s the trend and fashion spokesperson for the company—where she identifies trends, new design talent, and ensures each collection is properly represented—and manages to do it all with elegance and grace. Formerly a buyer at Marks & Spencer in the UK, Rutson has now been with Lane Crawford since 1993 (she took a brief hiatus). After returning in 2004, she’s helped usher LC into a new era as Asia’s leading specialty store (and wears killer daily outfits while doing it). Here’s Ms. Rutson’s humbling 10.
ELLE: What is your favorite smell?
Sarah Rutson: A really fresh smell of lemons and limes.
ELLE: What do you consider the epitome of happiness?
SR: My husband Andrew and daughter Eliza—nothing means anything to me without them.
ELLE: How do you define luxury?
SR: My personal luxury is time. Time seems to fly too fast, so I cherish time spent on things that truly matter.
ELLE: What is the last dream you remember?
SR: All my teeth falling out while I was sitting on The Star Ferry! (That’s one for Sigmund Freud).
ELLE: What’s your favorite childhood memory?
SR: My dad making up stories at bedtime. He had the best imagination and he was the best storyteller. He would always fall asleep midway through telling me a story. I would feel so happy and secure.
ELLE: What’s the last book you read and loved?
SR: I love reading biographies because I’m always interested in other people’s lives. I just finished reading about Peter Finch. He was a totally fascinating man and had a great story.
ELLE: Describe your home’s aesthetic.
SR: It is modern mixed with traditional English elements. It’s a home—and that’s the most important aesthetic.
ELLE: What are your vices? SR: I’ve been told it’s my sarcasm!
ELLE: Describe yourself in 5 words or less. SR: Humorous, candid, loving, forgiving, loyal.
ELLE: What possession will you never throw away?
SR: All my love letters and notes from my daughter Eliza and my husband Andrew. Everything in my life is disposable and fleeting except for my family.

Yves Saint Laurent just got a new actress face, and now its founder’s story is headed to the big screen—twice over. After the Saint Laurent documentary L’amour Fou premiered last year, two new projects are in the works, WWD reports. The first—directed by Jalil Lespert—focuses on the designer’s relationship with his partner of 50 years, Pierre Bergé, who has apparently given the project his approval (he had previously granted interviews for L’amour Fou). The second, which does not have Bergé’s blessing, reportedly focuses on YSL’s launch and heyday in the ’60s, and is directed by Bertrand Bonello.

Ashley Tisdale can always be spotted in trendy duds no matter where she is. We especially loved this laidback look she wore while doing some shopping in West L.A. - My father explained to me that the way that I swim, and the way that I interact with water was unique to my Ozonian heritage. I always knew we were different but a different planet! I wasn’t prepared for that at all. As time went on, I discovered that I could control the element of water in certain ways, but I didn’t know what to do with it. Pappah had the same powers and he taught me how to start controlling them, but there were still some slip ups!

Karl Lagerfeld may have a new cat—with its own Twitter handle, no less—but Gucci has also acquired a new animal: a horse. The house, which has long been associated with equestrian chic, renamed the stallion Guccio after house founder Guccio Gucci, WWD reports. Unlike Karl’s cat Choupette, Guccio is not so much a pet. He may make an appearance at the Olympics—or at least, that is the hope: he’s currently residing in Holland, at the stables of Edwina Alexander, currently the world’s top female horse-jumper.

Not too long ago, the only people who knew the name Aaron Paul were viewers of The Price is Right, but times have certainly changed for the young rough-and-tumble actor. Paul is now most well known for his Emmy Award-winning performance on AMC’s hit show Breaking Bad. The 32-year-old actor, who won the Emmy in 2010 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series plays Jesse Pinkman on the show, a troubled wannabe gangster with a big heart and an astounding amount of charm. We can’t help it: despite his cheesy lingo and oversized pants, there’s something about Jesse that is undeniably attractive. Whatever it is, this baby-faced bad boy has totally stolen a piece of our hearts! But who was Paul before he was a cast member of the six-time Emmy Award-winning show? Turns out, he isn’t quite the bad boy we envisioned him as. In fact, he was the son of a minister who got his acting career started by performing in his church’s plays. From there, he realized his heart was set on acting and since then, he’s made various appearances on shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, CSI, and most recently Big Love. Paul even played a role in the movie Mission: Impossible III, but his real fame began when he pulled on a beanie on the set of the AMC show. Originally, Paul’s character Jesse was supposed to be killed off at the end of the first season, but after only a couple of episodes, Vince Gilligan, the director, realized that would be a mistake as he watched Paul light up the set alongside Bryan Cranston, who plays Walter White, the show’s main character. Even though we’ve blown Paul’s bad boy cover, we’re still totally obsessed and can’t wait for the final season of Breaking Bad to begin on July 15th. Our only question for today’s crush of the week is, what next?

- We spotted Katy Perry in an amazing map dress! We love the mustard yellow and pale pink on the dress, especially when paired with Katy's deep purple highlights and grey coat. She managed to mix her signature whimsical style with a bit of class and we adore it.
