I don't know about all of you but Summer is my favorite time of the year and i thought i'd give you all some tips on how to spend it because lots of you will be breaking up from school for the holidays (or for good if you're like me!) and after a while the extra time can get a bit boring!

One thing you can do if you have nothing else to do is grab a pair of old, worn out jeans and turn them into a new eyecatching must-have pair of shorts to enjoy the sun it! Simply chop off the legs to however short you want them and then you can decorate them however you please; you can bleach them, tie dye them, dip dye them or even decorate them with pyramid studs, badges and all sorts! The brilliant thing about customising your own clothes is that nobody else will have the same piece as you and you can make them your own, you can do the same with denim jackets and any other old clothes, use your creativity - remember to get parental permission before chopping up your clothes though!

If you have a patch of land in your garden that's looking a bit boring you can head off to your nearest gardeners and buy a few pot plants to stick in the ground, or if you have no grass and don't like getting muddy then opt for hanging plants instead, it'll make your garden look brighter and more summery, attract nice wildlife and it gets your parents out of an extra job which they should be grateful for!

You can also grab a few friends together, grab some food and music and head off to your nearest empty field or dene and have a picnik in the sun! You can show of your new shorts, get a tan and get a chance to socialise - if you can't go to a field why not head off to a dene or the beach instead? Your backgarden or a friends would even do if you can't get out of town, but i prefer to get away from my usual surroundings to chill out
