Fall 2017 ruled the runway earlier this month in New York Fashion Week! Here are some trends I noticed.

Clean Lines
I can really appreciate a clean cut piece of clothing in a classic style, and luckily this trend seems to be in at the moment! Clean lines and sharp hems were seen in several NYFW shows including Ralph Lauren and Narciso Rodriguez. If you want to try out this trend, I suggest finding some stand out dresses and jackets in neutral colours- with heavy matte fabrics and bold creases! For a twist on this look, you could choose items with asymmetrical hemlines.

Mixing Textures
If the sharp and exact look isn't your cup of tea, why not go for the eccentric textured trend seem on catwalks from Michael Kors to Marchesa? In the picture above, I styled this trend in a subtle way by mixing a velvet dress with a thick faux fur coat, but you could also go bold with sheer fabrics, feathers, and fringe. The trick to pulling off this trend is pairing luxe fabrics that enhance each other while providing contrast!

Metallics
Wearing metallics can be hard to pull off, but if you do it right, the sky's the limit! This trend was seen in labels such as Proenza Schouler and Sies Marjan, providing some beautiful and interesting collections. While I created a loose fitting rose gold inspired outfit, tight fitting metallics can actually look amazing! I highly suggest you give this trend a go- it can be very dynamic.
