70s Style

för 105 månader sedan

A huge trend of 2015 was of course the 70s inspired style. I would say that Vanessa Hudgens increased the popularity of the Bohemian edge of this trend, as well as the American music festival Coachella. This is a trend that shows no signs of dying down just yet. As requested by a reader, I have delved deeper than the shallow 'festival fashion' to create some looks for your inspiration.

For my first two looks, I have kept it casual, with the classic bell-bottom flares. A darker wash of denim works best, as it keeps the look quite smart. A light-wash pair would work well with a ringer t-shirt and vintage sneakers for a very youthful look. If you want to experiment further, definitely try a pair in a print such as floral or paisley! I would then choose a chiffon blouse, with pussybow detailing, and a jacket in suede, sheepskin or fur. Door-knocker earrings, brown ankle boots (or wedges) and a hobo bag complete the look.

My last two looks are very dressy! Fur was a huge trend of the 70s, and generally worn as a statement piece, therefore I have chosen pieces such as the oversized coat and Cossack hat. Shades of brown fur work best with this look. It's best to keep the look simple when styling these pieces (especially with a gold jacket and huge fur coat), although I couldn't resist the knife-pleat maxi skirt!

What looks are your favorites? Let me know in the comments, and thank you for reading! Also, don't forget to leave me suggestions for future styling posts!
