There’s a new Edie making a name for herself in fashion—this one’s a charming Brit who showed her stuff on runways from Suno and Thakoon. We expect to see Edie Campbell’s face come Paris, but in the meantime we caught up with the new girl to talk Roald Dahl, Jackson Browne and “actively dressing badly.”

ELLE: Where are you from?

EC: London. My favorite place in the world.

ELLE: What shows are you looking forward to walking this week?

EC: It’s my first show season, so I’m just so excited to be here to experience it all.

ELLE: How would you describe your personal style?

EC: I quite like actively dressing badly, but I think that’s a very English thing.

ELLE: What’s your favorite thing about being in New York?

EC: Seeing my friends who are here, who I have been meaning to visit for ages.

ELLE: What music are you listening to these days?

EC: Jackson Browne and Harry Nilsson and Pixies.

ELLE: What goes through your head when you walk down the runway?

EC: I just try not to get the giggles. It feels like one of the most bizarre things to do.

ELLE: What’s your favorite food to snack on in between shows?

EC: Peanut butter protein bars and frozen yogurt.

ELLE: What do you like to read?

EC: At the moment I am working through my university reading lists, so it’s mostly about art. But I love all of Roald Dahl’s short stories, he has the best imagination.

ELLE: What are your best beauty secrets?

EC: I don’t have any secrets. It’s all pretty dull stuff like ‘moisturize your face,’ but how many times have you been told that?

ELLE: What’s been the most unexpected part of fashion week so far?

EC: I’m not sure. I think maybe how not-stressful I’ve found New York and how enjoyable it’s been.
