Celebrating Dollz!

66 måneder siden

Hi Dollz!

Since we are all dolls here, I wanted to be the first to tell you about World Doll Day! Mildred Seeley wrote a letter wanting to establish a National Doll Day to celebrate not only dolls but the caring, nurturing love of those collecting, making, and refurbishing them! Miss Mildred was victorious! In 1986, the world celebrate the first World Doll Day on the second sunday of June!

Are you a collector of dolls? Although I'm a granny and 60 years old, I am also a collector of dolls. As a little girl, I can remember the jewelery box my grandmother gifted me when I was 10. It started a lifelong love of Asian dolls.  Inside was a Japanese beauty with gold dangling from her hair!  she wore a beautiful kimono and little black shoes.  when you opened the door to her mirrored garden she danced around and around to the music! I would sit for hours, lost in her dancing as I imagine myself there in her beautiful garden dancing with her!

I have a cherished doll that came to America from Vietnam with a soldier in the 1960s. she is almost 3 feet tall with jet black hair. In her hair are jewels and flowers. She too wears a beautiful traditional costume from her homeland! I enjoy my dolls!

I hope you too will hold onto your innocence, your love of life and never lose your playfulness!  Find joy in the little things in life.....
