Productive Procrastination

76 måneder siden

Hi Dollies!

Right now, I am midway through my final internal exams. This marathon of a year has really been catching up to me lately and procrastination has never had a stronger grip on me.

I could probably give you tips on how to avoid procrastination, but I’m sure most of you have heard many solutions, many times. Some day, you’re going to feel so tired of work, you’ll spend a day doing nothing except wishing you were more productive. It happens! Don’t beat yourself up!

You can take this as an opportunity to choose a healthier option over an idle one. As my mother exasperatedly sighs, “If you’re going to procrastinate, can you at least do something productive?”

Yes, yes you can. Here are some procrastination activities which are productive:

  • Clean: I know it doesn’t sound that appealing, but this activity keeps your hands busy but your mind free, and it can become meditative!
  • Play an instrument: This is something I do, spend about half an hour playing and enjoying the music.
  • Cook: You end up with a nice treat that leaves both you and maybe your family happier!
  • Exercise: This is a great way to take a break, get your blood flowing and release some chemicals that make you feel happier and ready to get back to work later.
  • Take a Shower: I read somewhere that this can play a psychological trick on your mind. It ‘resets’ you and leaves you feeling fresh and re-energized.

Can you think of any other ways to procrastinate productively? Let me know if this breaks any old habits. But remember, don’t procrastinate for too long!

Take care,

Joanne ♡
