A Shrine to A. A. Milne

"People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day." - A. A. Milne

January the 18th has marked the birthday of A. A. Milne (the author of Winnie-the-Pooh) since 1882 so, no surprise, the 18th of January is now annually known as National Winnie-the-Pooh day. If you are familiar with his work, you may be able to identify the mannequins above as representative of Pooh and Piglet.

Weirdly enough, I am not going to ramble on about those simple outfits for this blog. Instead, I am going to stay true to the title and enlighten you with some facts on one of my favourite childhood franchises and the original author.

1. The franchise was bought by Disney in the 60s for $350 million dollars and now, Pooh is one of the most valuable characters.

"Some people care too much, I think It's called love." - Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne

2. A. A. Milne was part of a cricket club with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (the author of Sherlock Holmes). Mysterious right?

3. A. A. Milne was not only a writer, poet and playwright but he graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge with a  B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) in Mathematics.

"You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think." -Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne
