Fake ads are so yesterday. Today, the fashion blogosphere is all about big crazy rumors, like that Nichole Richie is going to be the new Creative Director of Halston, or celebrity face, or consultant, or that Nicole Richie will do something, anything with the crumbling house of Halston. The brand’s relationship with Hollywood hasn’t worked out so well, just one reason it’d be surprising if the investors thought, “Hey! You know what could work here? A really stylish, beautiful Hollywood star.” It didn’t work with Rachel Zoe, or Sarah Jessica Parker, or even Tamara Mellon who really actually does know how to run a business. If, for some reason, the house of Halston is incapable of functioning without a starlet, Richie would be a great choice. She’s one of the few celebrities who’s earned the right to drop “celebrity” before designer and both House of Harlow and Winter Kate are profitable, respected companies with loyal fans in and out of the fashion industry. To add fuel to the fire, Richie wore the sequined Halston dress at left to her last public appearance a couple of weeks ago. Think she’d be a good fit?

- After the next Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale is stepping down from his role as the brooding and dark Batman. So who will take his place? We found the list of contenders and they're all incredible! Our favorites: Ryan Gosling, Michael C. Hall, and Taylor Kitsch from "Friday Night Lights." We really hope that the role goes to Ryan, he's an amazing actor and would be a great Batman. (huffington post)

This morning, Chanel staged their pre-fall show—or, as they like to call it, Métiers d’Art—in Paris. While most designers are content to welcome press and buyers into their studio for an intimate presentation on a rolling rack, Chanel’s never one to say no to a major production. This season, Karl went with a feast theme, surprising for a man who famously favors Diet Coke over solid food. He presented a sparkling collection of fur coats and white sheath dresses on a runway lined with silver trays overflowing with food, stunning flower arrangements and crystal candelabras. Another look after the jump, and check back tomorrow for the full collection!

Jason Wu Pre-Fall
Jason Wu’s struck a taste for the Maharaja—the gilded echelons of Indian society—and used the reference as a driving inspiration in his pre-fall collection. Images of swanning princesses and rich embroideries combined with the works of modern artist, Charley Harper, provoked Wu to design a playful yet structured collection that included this parka suit—his fresh take on workwear for the early fall months (though given this year’s weather patterns, it may be better ‘suited’ for February). “It feels sophisticated and sporty at the same,” Wu said of his design. The look—comprised of a matching skirt and overcoat with a sharp monochromatic sweater underneath, is unlike any suit we’ve seen before; taking the polished girl-on-the-go to the next level by creating a jacket to-match. Click here to check out all of the pre-fall shows!
