Meet the doll: Kings.

Hello readers! How you doing?

Today, I'm here with another interview from the lovely doll Kings.

Kings. or Zainab (her name) is a hair designer. She's 17 years old and from London. She started playing Stardoll in 2009 with one of her sisters. Over the years, she's had quite a few dolls! But two of her main currently dolls are Kings. and Attitude. (with the dot).

Dim: Zainab, can you tell me if you draw in your real life? If not, how did you become that good in the details of your designs?

Zainab: I do design/draw in real life yes! I used to do a lot of digital drawings and ran an art page on Instagram (3amOutlines) but it was mainly basic/simple art that I did whenever I had the time to. I don’t really do much of that style of digital art now but I do take on other projects. I enjoy traditional art a lot too - especially with mediums like watercolor and pencil and hope to go into some form of graphic design as a career.

Dim: Tell me, who are your favorite models?

Zainab: 3. I’ll be honest - I don’t really follow a lot of models or that specific industry but I think Miranda Kerr, Liu Wen and Winnie Harlow are gorgeous! As for general interests in I suppose model worthy celebrities, I adore Madison Beer, Lee Sung Kyung, Shen Yue and Bae Suzy.

Dim: What things do you enjoy while playing on Stardoll?

Zainab: I love how creative people are! Honestly, the people on here are so skillful, designing things like clothing and features in the hair studio alone. I like how unique the game is in itself, where users can ultimately create content themselves and build a brand from it.

Dim: And what do you hate in Stardoll?

Zainab: Recently, the glitches and bugs on the site have been a major kick in my enjoyment for the game. It’s because difficult to run certain features and I feel like a lot of my time spent on here is trying to solve those problems rather than enjoying myself.

Dim: I see that you often make custom wigs more than non-custom. Do you prefer custom wigs, and why?

Zainab: Honestly I prefer customs! Although designing them drives me crazy a lot of the time - I think being able to own a custom wig is a unique and great investment. Rather than being duplicates of every other doll, I think customs (whether it be faces or wigs) allow your doll to have a unique point that makes you stand out from everyone. But in the long run, I suppose making sellable wigs is better in the sense that the time spent making the design:money ratio is roughly equal - whereas customs take a lot more time and attention which is often double what a regular wig would take.

Dim: Tell me about your name! Please, id love to know why you decided that name for your doll!

Zainab: So! I was initially on the doll Attitude. which I created in haste after I lost access to a previous account of mine. I decided on the name because my sisters always say I’ve got a lot of attitude - so I figured I might as well brand myself as it. As for Kings., I wanted another account to design on and I wanted it to match the ‘ . ‘ ‘theme’ of my username - but as for the word itself, I don’t really know where it came from - it’s just a word I thought sounded catchy and wanted people to know me as.

Dim: Tell me about your hobbies. What do you usually do in your real life now in quarantine and what you used to do before quarantine?

Zainab: Honestly speaking - if I’m not on Stardoll, I binge watch Kdrama series. I’ve been watching them since I was like 7 and I’ve been addicted since. I think the storylines and concepts are super unique and different to western series and are easier to get into. Truth be told, this is basically my routine both during quarantine and before it. As for hobbies, as I mentioned before, I enjoy art/designs a lot so in my spare time, I do a lot of graphics/video/picture and art editing/making.

Dim: Tell me about your favorites movies/series and what kind of movies/series do you prefer.

Zainab: I really like dystopian movies and action films - such as 6 Underground and Now You See Me. As mentioned before, most of my favourite series are KDramas but here are some shows I really enjoy: kdrama, Prison Break, Once Upon A Time, Brooklyn 99, Descendants From The Sun, Sky Castle, Are You Human Too, Extraordinary You.
