After weeks and weeks of saving, I've finally done it. At last, I have enough Stardollars to buy....ONE new Tress Up hairstyle! (Isn't the new release fabulous, by the way?!) For non-paying members especially, Stardollars are hard to come by. It can be difficult, and sometimes frustrating, to save up your Stardollars. So, what can you do?

Figure out what you want...in advance. When I'm broke, I like to look through the Starplaza anyway and see what items I like. I try on hairstyles, play around with makeup, and create some expensive outfits in my dressing room. It's almost a good thing that I don't buy the things I want right way, because later, I often find something else that's better, or cheaper!

Never forget the Starcoin alternatives. Is it just me, or has Stardoll recently been releasing more Starcoin items? In 2016, we had stores like Trails and Vinyl come out, with the majority of their items sold for Starcoins! Starcoins are a lot easier to earn than Stardollars, so keep your eyes open for Starplaza and Starbazaar items sold for those lil purple coins.

Watch for competition clubs! There are a lot of fun clubs out there that host competitions where you can win Stardollar items! There are raffles, pageants, invite contests, and more, so see if there's something out there for you! Pro tip: If you win an item as a gift, you can't receive any makeup, jewelry, or Tress Up hairstyles, so those are some things you might want to put your own Stardollars towards.
