Alexander McQueen on Stardoll
Alexander McQueen was an English fashion designer who started off designing for Givenchy, but soon created his own label.
Lady Gaga is known to love his designs, and even recently received three pairs of his iconic Armadillo Boots from her fiance, who bought them at a charity auction!
Each of his designs is an expertly created piece of art, and we have been lucky enough to have items inspired by some of these released in Stardoll- check them out!
Many brands on Stardoll have released McQueen inspired items, but there has only been one McQueen collection, and that was Museum Mile!
Like the recent Gaultier inspired Museum Mile release, this collection was limited and open to Royalty for pre-shopping. It was so popular that almost all the items sold out before the collection was opened up for everyone to buy, but you can now find the items in the Bazaar if you missed out!
Looking at the picture above, you can see that the pair of shoes in the bottom box are an unusual shape. This is the signature Armadillo style boot, similar to those owned by Lady Gaga.
The pink puffy dress with a bird pattern is very close to a McQueen design seen in his 2009 Horn of Plenty collection! I really love this design because it is sculptured perfectly to create dramatic folds combined with an airy, cloudlike aesthetic. The tartan dress that can be seen in this picture is particularly interesting, because Alexander McQueen used the traditional Scottish McQueen clan tartan for this and many other items, giving them a personal touch and sentimental value. Sarah Jessica Parker wore a variation of this dress to a fashion exhibition, saying she was honoured to wear McQueen's family tartan.
What is your favourite McQueen design?
