Diaries were the original blogs, a way to record the thoughts and daily experiences of the writer. Usually they were not meant for others to read. Anne Frank’s first entry clearly stated her intention.

 

"I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support.” - Anne Frank

 

The StarBlog should be a safe space. As a StarBlogger, I share my personal thoughts, memories and feelings to the general readership at Stardoll. StarBloggers receive no compensation and though they want to do well, they are not professional writers. These posts are not intended to be journalism or scholarly articles and it is unreasonable to expect that all aspects of a topic will be covered when time and space is limited. For example, I wanted to call this particular entry "Spice Girl Diaries - Sweet, Salty, Sour and Bitter" but it would not fit in the allotted space.

 

I feel disappointed when I read thoughtless or hurtful comments. People that are not supportive or constructive discourage free expression, and may be perceived as being envious and/or bitter. Positivity is welcome.
