Lingerie-inspired clothing has been a recurring trend for a couple of seasons now. With Spring/Summer 2017, it has been spotted on catwalks such as Dior, Coach, and Alexander Wang. For this post, I have styled some outfits inspired by lingerie.

The easiest way to achieve this look is to mix the lingerie with contrasting pieces. For example, with my first outfit, I have layered the lace slip dress over the top of a slogan t-shirt and relaxed jeans, and added simple accessories. You can achieve a similar look by removing the jeans and adding a silk slip dress instead of the lace one. With my second outfit, I layered a silk camisole with a grey t-shirt underneath and a sheer t-shirt on top. I also added white fishnet socks and dressed the outfit down with jeans, sneakers and a leather jacket.

My next outfits were inspired by one of my favourite SS17 collections, Fenty x Puma. The overall inspiration was what Marie Antoinette would wear to the gym. I love how this collection played around with the feminine aspects such as pearls, baby pink and lilac shades and satin fabric, which were then combined with khaki and brown, sweatpants, platform trainers, du-rags and baseball caps.

I applied this to my outfits by styling this lace dress with matching baby pink boots, but adding contrast with the khaki bomber jacket (worn slouchy) and socks. The beanie hat is perfect with the added lace. The second look is even more casual, with the corset worn over a t-shirt, lace shorts and an oversized bomber jacket and platform sneakers.
