Healthy Snacks!

I'm a big snacker, and while chocolate and chips are good as treats every now and then, having a few tasty healthy snack ideas is really important for getting great nutrients on a daily basis! Here are a few of my faves - enjoy!



Sweet
If you have a sweet tooth, these are the snacks for you!
-Fruit: Everyone says fruit is the perfect snack, but it doesn't have to be only apples! I love mango or frozen berries - tasty!
-Yogurt: This is my favourite snack of all time! See if you can find a probiotic or prebiotic variety - they come in all sorts of delicious flavours.


Salty
If you love your chips and crackers, try out these tasty alternatives!
-Salted seeds/nuts: Filled with healthy fats, a small handful of these can be a great energy boost! Don't have too many, as salt can be unhealthy.
-Olives: Although olives are bitter, they are often preserved in salty water. A few of these may taste strongly, but salt cravings will soon disappear!


Savory
Savory foods are great to fill you up, but if you've been eating too much pizza lately, here are some yum alternatives!
-Roasted vegetables: Ask an adult to help you roast some vegatables in a tray with seasoning and a little oil. Warm and satisfying!
-Nut butter: Nut butters are delicious - I love to dip celery sticks in them! Try to find a variety with no added sugar/salt for more health benefits.
