Royal Recap: Tours and Engagements

Prije 63 mjeseca

Royal Recap will be a series of weekly posts reporting on news from royals and their events.

United Kingdom:

23th of September - Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex began their Africa tour which consisted of visiting Malawi, Botswana, Angola and South Africa, to participate in a series of events promoting women's education. This tour got major coverage specially because they brought their son Archie with them, who is just 4 months old. The tour also led Prince Harry to visit Angola's landmine fields, where he detonated a mine. He then visited the city of Huambo, which was a field of landmines 22 years ago, and was successfuly de-mined thanks to his mother Princess Diana, who took a big interest in helping. Prince Harry then met Sandra Tigica, the amputee girl whom Diana conforted and posed with for a photo. She told the Prince she never forgot the day she met his mother, and refered to her as "mommy," which instantly made me cry. It was really sweet! She then ended by saying that she's very pleased that Harry is follwing her footsteps and also said that Princess Diana made Angola a better place.

26th of Semptember - The Duke of York's office announced that Princess Beatrice is engaged to her boyfriend Edoado Mapelli Mozzi! The proposal happened in Italy, where the couple was vacationing. The statement didn't inform us of much, other than the parents' comments on the news and that the wedding will take place in 2020. We will eventually have access to new information, meanwhile we can start by guessing which tiara she will wear! Or how the dress will be! What do you think?? I hope Stardoll decides to design her wedding dress; many people seem to love collecting royal wedding dresses. Yay I can't wait!!

Finally, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a scheduled state visit to Pakistan from the 14th of October to the 18th. *Praying we get a formal dinner and we see the Duchess in a tiara*

Denmark:

3rd of November - Queen Margrethe has officially appointed Crown Princess Mary as her regent, (she's her daughter-in-law and as married to Crown Prince Frederik, she will be Queen of Denmark). This means that whenever for some odd reason the Queen can't be present at an event, Princess Mary will step in for her in duties that were once only entitled for the Queen herself to perform. It also means that when she becomes Queen, she will have the same political status has her reigning husband.
