As you may have seen in our Support Forum last week, we have decided to remove the Starmovie feature as part of our ongoing project to make your Stardoll experience smoother, which includes getting rid of Flash.The response from you all was mainly positive, but we understand that you still have a few questions regarding the Starmovie removal, so we'll do our best to answer them here.
1. Why did we remove the Starmovie?The Starmovie feature was created a while ago and the technology that it was built with is no longer supported. Since it is one of our least popular features on the site, we decided it was time to let it go. We can use the time we would have spent updating Starmovie to work towards updates that are more in demand.2. What about the Academy task and the achievement?We have already removed the Academy task that involved creating a Starmovie so that all our dolls can continue with their Academy uninterrupted.The achievement for winning the Starmovie contest will remain visible on the shelf in your Suite so that dolls who have already earned the achievement will not lose it. Unfortunately, it will not be possible for other dolls to earn this achievement once the contest has been removed.3. How's it going with Flash?We're working hard right now to try and ensure that our "Flash-free" project is successful and that you can have an even better experience on Stardoll.com than before. We will keep you updated.We understand it may seem unfair for those who made a movie recently that we have removed this feature, and for this reason we want to let you know that everyone who has made a Starmovie in the last 21 days is going to get a refund for them.
