Advertising vs. Spamming

97個月之前

If you want people to vote for you or buy from your Bazaar, it's just a fact that you need to promote yourself. Often, though, this ends up creating annoying spam messages like VOTE FOR ME or VISIT MY BAZAAR that can come across as rude or pushy. So before you start advertising, remember some guidelines:

- Don't be a robot. Copying and pasting one message into hundreds of guestbooks is hardly the way to go. Instead, try saying something you like about each doll's suite that's specific to them. ("That red dress looks great on you!" "Cool winter suite!") This lets dolls know that you like them, not just their votes!

- Respect dolls' wishes. Does their presentation say "NO SPAM PLEASE"? Yes = leave them alone. Do they respond positively to other advertisements in their guestbook? No = leave them alone. They'll vote for you if they visit you and like you, not if you advertise, no matter how nicely you ask.

- Think outside the guestbooks. Broadcast is a good way to advertise without getting in everyone's faces, too! There are clubs designed to help dolls get the votes and sales they need, too, so check that out as well. No one asks you to advertise in their guestbook, but these alternate locations are specifically meant for that purpose.

It may take an extra minute or two to advertise respectfully, but it can make a doll's day a lot better when they're not feeling pressured or annoyed by unwanted advertising.

Remember to always follow the One-Stop Rules when you're campaigning, and good luck!

Til next time!
