Dealing with Stress

97個月之前

We've all got stress in our lives. School, work, even the expectations placed on us by our family, friends, and selves, can be a big source of stress. Don't get me wrong, a little stress is a good thing. It motivates us to get things done on time and do our best. However, when stress gets out of control, it can be debilitating. I've had some unhealthy stress in my life recently, which is part of the reason I've been a bit inactive lately, and here are some of my tips for dealing with too much stress:

1. Know yourself. It's important to realize when you've got too much stress, and how it affects you. Maybe juggling assignments tests, and jobs is easy for you, but maybe you can't quite manage all that. Maybe too much stress makes you irritable and angry, or maybe it makes you feel hopeless and upset. Whatever the case, understanding your limits and feelings will make it easier to deal with stress.

2. Take a break. When there's too much going on, start to cut things out one at a time. For myself, when I have a lot on the go, Stardoll is what I need to leave behind, just until I have enough time and energy to come back to it. If you've been working hard on a project and still have a lot to do, struggling a few more minutes won't help much; take some time to breathe, eat, do something to help relax.

3. Don't stress alone. Talking to people can really help relieve stress. Your stress might make you want to isolate yourself, but take some time to tell a parent or friend how you feel. Often they can comfort you and offer you advice to deal with your stress.

Stress can consume you when it goes too far. Just remember that it won't last forever, and you're doing the best you can. ♥

Til next time!
