Raf Simons after Saturday's Jil Sander show. Photo: Getty Images
Yesterday, Twitter exploded when the International Herald Tribune’s Jessica Michault wrote, “Suzy Menkes breaks the news that Raf Simons is slated to take over the helm at Yves Saint Laurent. Read it online on the NYT.” Michault was referring to this article by Menkes, in which the critic suggestively opens her review of the Jil Sander show, “If Raf Simons ultimately takes over the helm at Yves Saint Laurent—as those familiar with the situation in Paris suggest—the designer will have found a sweet spot for his meticulous modernism.” Cue the insanity. Simons, who’s been a critical darling for years, had just shown his third couture-inspired collection which left little room for debate over whether or not he was qualified for the job at YSL. When added to the rumors that have plagued Stefano Pilati’s tenure at YSL for almost two years now, the idea made perfect sense. Last year, when a rogue Tweet suggested that Hedi Slimane was set to take over YSL, the house immediately shut down the idea, swearing within minutes that Pilati wasn’t going anywhere. This rumor took longer to refute. ELLE UK finally reports this morning that Simons has just renewed his contract at Jil Sander for another four years. Given the hugely positive reaction to the bomb dropped my Menkes, there’s only one thing left to say, “Poor Stefano Pilati.”

- You know those dresses that just seem boring at the first look but then the celeb turns around and…Wow! The back of the dress turns out to be amazing! We love those sort of dresses! The idea of keeping it simple in the front and then surprise with an open back is both fun and super hot! We mean, having a super deep cleavage and showing all your front "business" is starting to get a bit old and to be honest, we think the stars like to take every opportunity they get to do the sexy “look over the shoulder“ pose!
Check out our gallery of dresses with open backs worn by Vanessa Hudgens and Whitney Port among others!

- Spice girls were real trendsetters in the 90's! They brought the Buffalo's to life, lollipops went cool and doing the peace sign has never been so hip! Spice Girls had game, and then they split up and disappeared! Victoria is the only one of them who really stayed in the spotlight, we only spot the others from time to time, at premieres, in Reality TV, creating some kind of training video and when they try to go back in time and bring Spice Girls back to life. They were so IT in the 90's. We wanted to know, do they still have it? We looked it up, and they look great all of them! Our favorite back in the day was Mel B with her big curly hair, but Geri looks really great now! Which Spice Girl do you think looks better these days? We can't decide!

- Blonds are fun and redheads are mysteries, so what about brunettes? Well when we think about brunettes, we think about famous beauties like, Angelina Jolie! She's hot and goddess like, and like some of our other fave brunettes, we envy her because there’s a dangerous cleverness about a hot brunette that will destroy any man, if they let her! But the problem is that the beautiful and talented brunettes of hollywood are many! Stars like Nina Dubrev, Mila Kunis and Shay Mitchell are all winning us over, but we can't decide...
Who is our fave brunette right now? Click on the pics to see our top ten list of beautiful brunettes! Which one is your fave? Because nobody can resist a smart brunette over a dumb blond! right?

This afternoon in Milan, Miuccia Prada sent out a darling spring collection. It was easy, feminine, and very playful. She accessorized the runway with styrofoam cars and carried the “Greased Lighting” theme onto flame-covered dresses and shoes. The turbo engine heels will be everywhere come spring, as will the ladylike frame bags and pleated chiffon skirts, but we just want to know who will be first to turn one of the bejeweled leotards into an everyday outfit. There’s not quite enough fabric to qualify as a romper, and they’re a smidge longer than Dolce & Gabbana‘s spring bodysuits, so we know someone will deem it daylight appropriate—and that someone will definitely be a fashion week go-er. The only question is, who will do it first?

In fifteen minutes Prada’s homepage will change from the above image into a live stream of their spring summer 2012 runway show. Or, more accurately, a live stream of people arriving and taking their seats—the show will probably start closer to 12:30. And sure, almost everyone live streams their show these days, but if there’s one you want to catch, it’s Prada. But if you haven’t grabbed your lunch, run!
