This new Pet-a-Porter collection is inspired by having a pet, caring for it and watching it grow! I managed to snag "Shelly The Sugar Glider" which is a super cute little grey fluff-ball!

It really made me want to write about having a pet. There's lots of things to think about when deciding on whether you should get a pet or not. Will you have enough time and money to care for another life? Are you responsible enough to remember? Do you vacation a lot? If so, will someone be able to care for it when you're away?

You should also make sure you get the right kind of pet for your family. If there's allergies, instead of getting a cat or dog you might want to consider a small mammal or aquatic critter.

If you can, please support your local animal shelters to get a pet! Although they're mainly cat or dog shelters, you may be able to find an exotic animal shelter - in my area there's a guinea pig shelter!
