#1 - Wear different washes

If you're head-to-toe in one wash of denim, it's not going to look very good! Mixing washes looks better and less boring. Obviously, you don't even have to go head-to-toe.

Patterns work great with double denim, especially leather. It adds life and doesn't focus on the fact that you're wearing double denim, unless you want to go for that kind of look.
