Living Offline

il y a 42 mois

Welcome back!

There are endless benefits and advantages to monitor-based technology. If you, like me, spend several hours per day looking at screens, you’ll know that from staying in touch with your friends to finding new businesses to support, items like phones and computers really make our lives better.

However, wanting a break from technology is completely normal- it can get mentally & physically draining to be as dependent on screens as we are today. It gets difficult to stay away offline at times despite the disadvantages of spending lots of time on the internet, so I’ve compiled a list of activities you could participate in that don’t involve any screens at all! Enjoy :)

  1. Tidy up.

I know this may sound strange- but when you have the energy to do so, a bit of cleaning or tidying will make you feel amazing! The job satisfaction is unmatched; you’ve got to make something look more beautiful as well as taking some time away from the noise of your devices.

  1. Try moving your body.

If you’re feeling up to it, try looking for workouts online (I know this technically uses screens, but if you find one you like and write down the steps involved, you won’t have to worry about going online for it repeatedly.) However, don’t worry if you don’t feel like doing strenuous exercise, there are many more gentle ways to do this such as freestyle dancing or going for a long walk.

  1. Decorate yourself!

Looking inwards and changing your body or face (for your own enjoyment, not because you feel obliged to because of others’ expectations) can be a very fun way to pass time. Doing make-up or changing your clothes can make you feel much prettier and happier!

  1. Do something creative.

Creativity is difficult to cultivate when your head is full of the many things screens put into our heads. Doing something such as drawing, painting or playing an instrument can help to clear your head and provide an engaging activity for you to do!

  1. Reminisce.

Looking through old photo albums or silently thinking about the past isn’t for everyone, but if you feel like it, it can help you to be much more reflective and it can impact the way you behave in the future.

Did you try out any of these screen-free ways to spend your summer? If not, what’s your favorite way to pass time? Let me know in the comments below!

Take care,
