MEET THE STAR BEHIND THE DOLL:

LIABILITY
also known as
 veaux, fishbowlsoul, bombaniqua, & kusakina

Meet Jake, an extremely talented 22 year old player from the USA. In real life, Jake is a singer and artist that works as a full-time supervisor at a warehouse. He studied elementary education for 3 years and now plans to go back to college to earn his degree. Some of his hobbies include songwriting and sketching. After chatting with Jake, I feel very honored to introduce you all to this very talented and wonderful person.

Share your Stardoll story!

"I discovered Stardoll in 2007, while looking for dress up games. Unfortunately I was only around 10 and I totally forgot the username, and wasn't really into it at first. Then, in 2010 I came back and made a new account and I have played almost every day since then!"

Tell us about your StarDesign journey!

"I have worked on many projects, tons and tons of wigs but also some SNTA entries. I have done some cosplay dolls of American Horror Story characters, and my cover of Twisty the clown is easily my favorite.

A lot of designers only take an hour or so to make a design, but for me it takes DAYS! I pour my heart and soul into my designs, critiquing every little piece to make sure that the wig is as perfect as I can make it. I can only create wigs when I'm inspired, andI'll only release them if I think they are good enough. It seems like I hardly design but I design every day, just nothing good enough to release at this time.
I prefer to make wigs that are detailed, so at least 3 parts. Its nice to showcase my talent I have built up over the years and it is easier to do that with no limit of pieces. I enjoy designing for myself, where I won't sell the wig but just make one to keep. There is no pressure in this, it is relaxing and I really enjoy it.

"For designing, I focus on shading more than anything else. I always want my lighting and shading to be PERFECT!"

This is what I focus on in my sketches too, shadow play is my favorite. The price for my wigs ranges greatly, sometimes I will make wigs that are one part and cost 65 SD to make, but other times they can be 4 or 5 parts which costs 260-325 just to make.

On top of that, there are many designs I will buy and never sell, or buy and realize I've made a mistake and have to fix it. I put a lot of time into my designs to make sure they are perfect, I'm not in it for the Stardollars so I don't mind spending some money to make them perfect.
My only issues with designing on Stardoll is I accidentally click on ads, on broadcasts, and other things in the middle of designing and have to restart a bunch. Another issue is if you put so many pieces of hair in one area, there is a glitch where you can't see that area anymore, its quite strange. All together my designing experience has been amazing, though!"

Let's talk fashion and style! Who inspires you on and off the game?

"I am absolutely inspired by runway fashion, specifically Bottega Veneta and Alice & Olivia. My favorite designers here are Claudentia, Magicseva-love, Pnui, Bylovely and many many more. We are so blessed with talent on Stardoll! I can't wait to discover more underrated artists here. Shoutout to Claudentia for being so sweet, and also to Mfentyx for being a great and patient friend!"

Got any advice you'd like to share with Starblog readers?

"My advice for anyone wanting to be a top designer is to be patient and keep practicing! Once you are confident in your designs, broadcast and let people know in their GB that you have some nice wigs for sale if they look like they could be interested in your style! I do this sometimes, and people are usually grateful for me reaching out and will buy the designs. Don't ever be discouraged, your style is someone else's style, too!

My advice for new members is take your time! The first design you make won't be the level of top designers, because top designers have had YEARS of practice. Even with a bunch of artistic xperience and talent, it takes practice to get better. If you had seen my designs years ago you would laugh, but they brought me to where I am today. Don't get discouraged, with hard work you'll make amazing designs. Another tip for designing is to practice, use lighting and shadow to your advantage, and just take your time. Being a designer doesn't happen overnight, and it is something to work towards. I'm rooting for you!"
