The Real '20s: Part 4

il y a 77 mois

Gabrielle Chanel,  known as Coco Chanel, was a renowned fashion designer that changed fashion in the 20th century. She's very special to me, being my favorite fashion designer, I love her. According to Vogue, she's the fashion designer of my starsign: Leo, being one herself, born on August 19, 1883. She spent her childhood in an orphanage. Behind it was the Abbey of Aubazine that had stained glass windows, featuring interlocked circles, the inspiration for her CC logo, and the priests' garments inspired her jewels. Bored with the current fashion, she created her own clothes. She shortned and loosened the dresses, dropped the waitline and used masculine cuts. She designed a new bag with resizeable strap and quilted fabric, inspired by the french soldiers, the classic flap bag. In 1921, she fell in love with black, the color reserved for maids, butlers and mourning, and dressed women in black. The little black dress was born. It is now a basic, important piece for every woman. In same year, the iconic Chanel nº 5 was created. She soon rised to worldwide fame and became a legend.
