All About: Alfred Hitchcock

il y a 94 mois

I recently watched an incredible Alfred Hitchcock movie called Rear Window. It's about a man who breaks his leg and becomes obsessed with watching his neighbors' lives through his window. It was refreshing to see a suspenseful movie rather than an overly-gory movie. In fact, there was no violence at all in this movie! It was very, very well-done and I recommend that you guys watch it, provided you can handle extreme suspense.

I got to thinking: everyone knows who Alfred Hitchcock is, but not everyone knows much about him. So today I thought I would share some facts and tidbits about Alfred Hitchcock.

Alfred Joseph Hitchcock was born on the 13th of August, 1889 in Leytonstone, United Kingdom. He moved to Hollywood in 1939 and was granted US citizenship in 1955. He began his career in filmmaking. His first movie, Rebecca, came out in 1940 and won an Academy Award for best picture.

Hitchcock is considered the "Master of Suspense" and "the most universally recognizable person in the world", and pioneered many different camera techniques, such as the close-up. He was even knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1980. Hitchcock died in Bel Air at age 80 in 1980. His most famous works include: Psycho, Vertigo, North by Northwest, and Rear Window.

I really hope you guys enjoyed reading about Alfred Hitchcock, and again, I sincerely recommend that you watch some of his movies.

Peace out,                                                                                                                               Liv
