The point of using lip liner in a real life makeup look is to ensure your lipstick stays on longer and does not bleed or "feather" out into the tiny creases around your lips. Using lip liner ensures crisp edges to your lip makeup that stay put! You don't have to use it only around the edges of your lips either - colouring in your lips fully with a lip liner will act as a base and make sure your lipstick doesn't wear off unevenly. Some people even like to experiment with the colour of their lip liner relative to their lipstick to create a dramatic outlined or ombre look!
