"I gasped and dropped the note. I ran in the opposite direction, as far away from that place as possible. When I heard the crunch of snow behind me, I picked up my speed, not daring to look back. I stumbled forwards, my steps quick but unsteady. My dress was caught on the branches of a small shrub. I tried to get free, but there was just no way: the lace had gotten completely looped around the smaller thorn-like branches. The night had finished falling and it grew colder. The steady crunch of snow followed behind me, getting louder and louder, and closer and closer. I pulled harder at my dress, not caring if it ripped, but my fingers were too numb."
